About New World Montessori School

School Year Curriculum

Morning Primary Program
Ages: 2 ½- 5
8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.
Children work with self-correcting materials in an environment designed specifically for them. Their lessons include practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language arts, and cultural activities, which make up what Maria Montessori called the prepared environment. A snack is available for the children if they choose to eat it.

Extended Day Primary Program
Ages: 5-6
8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
At or about the age of 5, children become part of the extended day program. Their mornings are much the same, doing their Montessori work from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Extended day children eat lunch in the cafeteria, either a bag lunch from home or cafeteria hot lunch. Afternoons include Montessori lessons, outdoor play when weather permits, and other enriching classes such as gym, music, and Spanish.

Elementary Program
Grades 1-6
8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The elementary program builds on the skills and concepts developed in the primary program, respecting the child’s intelligence and interests. Enriching subjects such as music, gym, Spanish, and art are incorporated. Previous Montessori education is required.
